Bubba on TV

The Legend Of Count Bubba

The origins of Count Bubba, Good Buddy of Darkness are shrouded in mystery. Little is known about Bubba's early life or how he inherited his title, or when he first became a vampire.

It is known that he was born in the tiny East Texas hamlet of Transylvania, a town so small it doesn't appear on any known maps, but wary locals know that it lies nestled in the deep pine woods just off FM-350 near New Willard. Travelers seldom venture there and those who do rarely return.

The Count's meteoric rise to cult-hero status occurred in the mid 1980's when he hosted Horror Classics, which aired on KTRE-TV at 10:30 P.M. on Friday nights. The show featured a collection of classic horror films from the 1930's and 1940's. For many of his younger viewers it was the first time they'd seen the original Frankenstein, Dracula, or The Mummy, starring Boris Karloff, and Bela Lugosi. The show proved immensely popular with older audiences as well. They loved the old films they'd grown up with and everyone loved to watch's Bubba's antics.

Bubba mysteriously disappeared from the airwaves around 1987 and the tapes of his shows vanished into the dusty recesses of local television history. But like most vampires, you never know when they may rise from the dust.

Sealed in a crypt for over 20 years, he has returned from the dead to haunt our nightmares. Clear away the cobwebs. Overcome your deepest fears. Lock your doors and windows and tell yourself you're safe. He's on the loose and hell bent on writing a Blog!

Where has the time gone? For Bubba it seems as if no time at all has passed. After crawling out of his crypt, we was momentarily amazed at how much has changed since he last rode the airwaves. So take a trip back through time when Rubik's Cube, the pope-mobile, Ronald Reagan's jelly beans, Donkey Kong, and that suave stainless steel Delorean were the coolest things around.
